The Lords of America: the warriors of Tenochtitlan

This is Tenochtitlan.
"Guadalajara on the plane, México on a lake" – Jorge Negrete

Long ago, in the valley of Mexico, also called Anáhuac, there were five great lakes that gave life to the whole valley. The most important lake was lake Texcoco, because around it were the three greatest cities of the Valley of Mexico. The cities were called Texcoco, Tlacopan and Tenochtitlan. Texcoco was on the east shore of the lake. Tlacopan was on the west shore of the lake. An Tenochtitlan was on the lake, on many connected islands in the middle of the lake

The ruler of Tenochtitlan was a great warrior that, above all else, desired power. So, to make his kingdom bigger and stronger, he made an alliance with the two other cities of the lake.

Together, the three cities were the largest and most powerful of all the cities that existed in the Valley of Mexico. None of the other cities could opose them, none could defeat them.

Together, they conquered nearly all the cities around them.
